Lampadina in mano

Mon, May 5, 2025 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM CEST | Artem Masorin

In today’s fast-moving product development landscape, close integration between development and testing is essential to ensure quality, safety, and market access. Development-Accompanying Testing offers manufacturers in the lighting sector the opportunity to assess safety- and performance-related aspects early on and continuously, helping to minimise potential sources of error throughout the development process.

In this webinar, experts from VDE will provide practical insights into the principles, procedures, and benefits of Development-Accompanying Testing, specifically tailored to lighting systems. Using real-world examples, the session will demonstrate how testing strategies can be effectively integrated into development workflows, which standards and regulations must be considered, and how collaboration with VDE can help accelerate the certification process.

Main points:

  • Fundamentals and objectives of Development-Accompanying Testing
  • Common failure patterns and early detection
  • Advantages of Development-Accompanying Testing for time-to-market, product safety, and performance
  • Working with VDE – from initial concept to certification

Target Audience:
Development engineers, project managers, quality managers, and all professionals in the lighting industry aiming to bring compliant, high-performance products to market efficiently.

We look forward to your participation in our free online seminar.

Light for Humans – A Practical Approach to Human-Centric Lighting

Konzept eines Smart Home und Lichtsteuerung mit mobilen Geräten Smart Home

Tue, May 6, 2025 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM CEST | Dragana Zdravkovic-Stojanovic

Human Centric Lighting (HCL) is based on lighting concepts that deliberately consider the biologically effective impacts of light—particularly with respect to circadian rhythms, sleep quality, and cognitive performance. In addition to meeting visual requirements, increasing attention is being given to the melanopic components of light. This webinar provides in-depth knowledge on the non-visual mechanisms of light, with a focus on the role of intrinsically photosensitive retinal ganglion cells (ipRGCs) and their importance in circadian regulation.

A key part of the webinar is the introduction to the international standard CIE S 026/E:2018, which defines photobiological action spectra and enables standardized assessment of melanopic equivalent daylight illuminance. The practical application of these metrics will be explored in the context of current planning guidelines such as DIN EN 12464-1 and the WELL Building Standard. Using real-world projects, we will demonstrate how dynamic, spectrally optimized lighting solutions can be effectively integrated into HCL-compliant lighting designs.

We look forward to your participation in our free online seminar.

E-Mobility Regulations – Charging, Paying, and What’s Next

Wed, May 14, 2025 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM CEST | Dennis Hügen

Stazione di ricarica per veicoli elettrici

Wed, May 14, 2025 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM CEST | Dennis Hügen

In this webinar, we take a closer look at the regulations that affect EV drivers today— and in the near future. First, we look at where you can charge your car: at home, at work, while shopping, on long trips, across the EU, and worldwide. For each location, we’ll explain what rules apply — some simple, some more complex.
Next, we explore how payment works in each of those places, and what’s needed to make it smooth and secure everywhere.
Then we look ahead: What else could your car do once the right standards are in place? From bidirectional charging to powering your home or feeding energy back into the grid — technologies like BIDI, V2L, V2G, V2H, and V2X offer big opportunities. We’ll discuss what regulations still need to catch up to make these ideas a reality.
E-mobility isn’t just about driving electric — it’s about new ways to connect energy, mobility, and everyday life. This session shows where we are now and what’s still needed to unlock the full potential.
